A trip to the tower to say good bye.

Today I said my final farewell to Angel the translator. It was a lot of fun, but at the same time it was really sad to have to say good bye and know you probably won't ever see each other again. Although, I told Angel that if she decides to come to America for her furthered education, and she does go to some college in Michigan, I told her I would come visit. That would just be wild.
I took her out to dinner at this restaurant in the top of a T.V./Radio Tower in Shenyang. It is the tallest object in the city. The picture that you see above, well, it was spinning. One revolution per hour I think. Great view.
The tower is 300 Meters to the very tip of the tallest radio/TV transmitter.
Once I got into the tower, I wanted to see it all. I went to the very tallest part that I could gain access to, and I started taking pictures, and man was it windy! I could see all of Shenyang. It was pretty cool.
That building that stands out from all the rest in the far back is being built right now for the 2008 Olympics. Some of the events will be held in Shenyang. The city is very excited, and so they built that crazy looking building. Cool, Huh?
Just in case anyone cared, I had only a stash for about 8 minutes today. Definitely something that doesn't and won't happen very often. Well, I took a picture so we can remember how creepy I look with just a stash. he he he

As night fall hit Shenyang, It left a calming red glow over the city. I kind of caught some of it in this picture, but you would have had to of been there to get the full effect. It was slightly windy, with a bit of a chilled air mass blowing through. I remember it being fairly quiet, although there were probably taxi cab horns in the back ground. It was really quite beautiful though. I will miss these Chinese Sky's. I leave for home in 10 days. I sure do miss my friends; Jared, Chris, Andy, and of course Chelsy.

An old Irish blessing for when you are leaving is:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Then may you be in heaven
Thirty seconds
Before the devil
Knows you’ve gone.

God bless you and your mother. There are many Riley cousins in the US, Canada and Ireland praying for you.
